This gorgeous heavy weight pendant from India surrounds a handpainted miniature painting of the Goddess Ganga,
Ganga (the personification of the river Ganges) is worshipped by Hindus as the goddess of purification and forgiveness. She is often depicted as a fair, beautiful woman, riding a divine crocodile-like creature called the makara.
Makara, a mythical crocodile in Hindu mythology who is the carrier of several dieties, symbolically represents the life giving force of water that feeds and sustains all living beings.
