Frida with Parrot Companions
Folk art in Mexico is created in the homes of families and is as much a part of daily activity as cooking a meal or walking to the vegetable market. In most of these families, the process includes everyone, from the youngest to the oldest.
Some of the most beautiful catrinas we have seen are created by Alejandra de la Cruz, daughter-in-law of the master artisan Alvaro de la Cruz who learned in the family studio.
This very special Frida skeleton relaxing in a chair surrounded by her parrot companions was created by Alejandra. The detail is remarkable and the painting is exquisite. She is our most requested artisan for her catrinas.
Because of its fragility, this piece requires extra packaging & will incur extra shipping costs.
