Hoopoe Seedpod Hand Painted Critters

This bright orange hoopoe will brighten anyone's day - who can resist that striking feather crest look? 

Raina Mazwiembiri and her two daughters make these seedpod birds using pods that they forage from the Ulumbu Tree and wire for the feet. The women hand paint each in the rich bright colors of each bird’s plumage to create these unique birds from Zimbabwe, Africa.

We love these little creatures lined up in a kitchen window or peeking out from a houseplant.
