This exquisite pendant showcases the inspiration that Lorenzo Juan draws from petroglyphs created by his Native American ancestors in prehistoric times, incorporating these ancient designs into his contemporary jewelry. By displaying these ancient rock art designs into his overlay style, Juan creates pieces that bridge the gap between historical artistry and contemporary craftsmanship.
Crafted in sterling silver, the overlaid applique designs tell the stories of traditional life with lifegiving corn & rain clouds, and horses & mountain sheep that are an important part of Navajo life..
Residing in Church Rock, New Mexico, and working out of Gallup, New Mexico, Lorenzo Juan began to silversmith in 1969 at 15 years old. His dedication to silversmithing, attention to detail and his ability to blend traditional techniques with innovative designs have established him as a respected figure in the world of Native American jewelry.
