Sweet Little Zuni Bear Fetish by Benny Bacy

Benny likes to make little bears. Part of the extended Natewa, Dallas Quam, and Panteah families of carvers. This little bear has a medicine bundle

on his back of turquoise and coral, a spirit arrow inset on one side of turquoise and turquoise eyes, mouth and nostrils. A really sweet piece, suitable for carrying in your pocket.

Many fetishes have a medicine bundle, offering bundle, or adornment tied onto the animal that consists of turquoise nuggets, coral seed beads, shell heishi, feathers and other stone pieces. The bundle may be an offering to the fetish, to used evoke the spirit of the fetish or to increase the strength of a fetish.
